Carpet is the predominant floor covering used in both domestic and commercial settings accounting for 58% of the floor finishing market in the UK.

In 2018, 264400 tonnes of carpet went to landfill in the UK. 114000 tonnes were sent to energy recovery facilities. This means only 15%, 61000 tonnes, were re-used and recycled.

Endurmeta has a specialist heavy-duty shredding plant that recycles carpets. The material produced is the perfect consistency for equestrian arenas. You can read about the benefits of fibre surfaces at our sister company Safer Surfacing. The surfaces are even and consistent, cushioning and reducing impact on horses legs whist exercising.

As well as saving companies from landfill disposal costs, Endurmeta is proud to be working towards revaluing carpet as a valuable, long lasting surface.
